When you call Woods Comfort Systems, you’re not getting a random contractor dispatched from a call center. You’re getting a team member who has been trained to the highest professional standards, takes genuine pride in their work, and treats your home the way they’d want their own home to be treated.
Our team is the reason this company has earned the trust of Central Texas homeowners and businesses for nearly 70 years. We hire carefully, train thoroughly, and build long-term relationships — with our customers and with each other.
Woods Family • Texas HVAC
The culture at Woods Comfort Systems isn’t something that got written down in a mission statement. It grew from the same values the Woods family has operated on since 1956: show up on time, do the work right, be honest about what you find, and treat people the way you’d want to be treated.
Those values shape everything — how we hire, how we train, how we handle a difficult diagnosis, and how we talk to a customer who’s frustrated because their AC went out on a 103-degree day. We don’t measure success by how many calls we close. We measure it by how many customers call us back.
That philosophy attracts a certain kind of person — and it keeps them. Long-tenured team members aren’t an accident at Woods Comfort Systems. They’re a reflection of a workplace where professional growth is supported, work ethic is recognized, and the work itself matters.
We tell customers the truth, even when it's not what they want to hear. That standard starts with how we treat each other.
We invest in ongoing training and certification because doing the job right requires staying current.
Clean uniforms, shoe covers, tidy work areas. Your home is someone's most important space — we treat it that way.
We build careers here, not just jobs. And we build customer relationships that last decades.
We live in the communities we serve. That's not a tagline — it's the reason the work feels meaningful.
The story of the people at Woods Comfort Systems begins, appropriately, with the Woods family themselves.
Christopher grew up watching his father and grandfather build a reputation in Texas HVAC that spanned decades. After attending Texas State University, he returned to the San Marcos area in October 2010 to take over Woods Comfort Systems from his retiring father — carrying forward a tradition that now stretches back nearly 70 years and three generations of the Woods family. Under Christopher’s leadership, Woods Comfort Systems has continued to grow while holding firmly to the values that built the company: honest pricing, quality workmanship, and long-term relationships with customers who become part of the family. He is actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the company and sets the standard — personally — for how every customer interaction should be handled.
Christopher didn’t build this company from scratch — he inherited something rare: a name that already meant something in Texas.
It started with C.A. Woods Jr. — a Bryant Air Conditioning engineer who founded C. Woods Company in Tyler, Texas in 1956. His son, C.A. “Carey” Woods III, served in the U.S. Navy before purchasing J.P. Morrow Company in Alice, Texas in 1978, running it for 20 years, then returning to Tyler to take over his father’s company. In 2008, Carey opened Woods Comfort Systems in Central Texas — and discovered that retirement and “freon in his veins” don’t mix. Christopher stepped in in 2010, and the family tradition continued.
That history isn’t just a story. It’s the reason every member of the Woods Comfort Systems team understands that reputation is earned one call at a time — and that the name on the truck means something.

There’s a version of the HVAC and plumbing industry that treats customers like ticket numbers. That’s not us. Never has been.
The Woods Comfort Systems service philosophy comes directly from Christopher Woods — who learned it from his father, who learned it from his father. It’s simple: treat every customer the way you’d want your own family to be treated. That means:
Before we recommend anything, we hear you out. What you've noticed matters — and often leads us directly to the source of the problem.
We don't hide behind technical jargon. You'll understand exactly what's wrong with your system and why we're recommending what we're recommending.
Wherever possible, we present you with choices — not just one answer. Repair vs. replace, standard vs. high-efficiency, short-term vs. long-term — you make the call.
No games, no surprises. What we quote is what you pay.
If something isn't right after we leave, call us. We'll make it right.
That philosophy isn’t just good ethics. It’s the reason customers in Kyle and Wimberley and New Braunfels have been calling the same company — the same family — for 10, 20, even 30+ years.
Central Texas HVAC and plumbing demand is strong in every season
We invest in your professional development
Long tenures aren't an accident here
Direct leadership, clear communication, no corporate bureaucracy
This is meaningful work in your own community

Yes. Every field technician and plumber goes through a thorough background screening before joining the Woods Comfort Systems team. When you open your door to one of our technicians, you can do so with confidence.
We make every effort to assign consistent technicians to customers who have established a relationship with a specific team member — particularly for customers on our maintenance plans. While scheduling logistics don’t always allow for a guaranteed match, we track service history and preferences so whoever arrives is fully informed about your system and your property.
Woods Comfort Systems has a strong record of long-term employee retention — a direct reflection of the culture Christopher Woods has built. Many of our technicians and plumbers have been with the company for multiple years, and some for significantly longer. Long-tenured team members mean deeper expertise, more consistent service quality, and technicians who genuinely know the communities — and the homes — they serve.
